I love the idea of “kindsight” - being less judgmental of ourselves in retrospect. I particularly liked how you say progress arrives quietly, that effort matters as much as outcome, and that it takes strength to take the next step. Brilliant!

Aw, thank you so much for your kind words! If anything, you helped encourage this along, so there is a little piece of you in here too. Thank you - I truly appreciate your gorgeous brain and the beautiful way you see things.

Melissa, thanks for sharing that kindsight vs. hindsight concept. It's a really good one.

It's exactly how it is in coaching. We don't focus on what went wrong or maybe even say something negative about what took place (which I never do) when a goal is missed. We look back (in kindsight as you put it), and focus on what went well. No matter how off-goal someone is, there's always something that went well and that's where the energy should be focused on.

Thank you so much for reading my piece, Melanie, and for your lovely words. It sounds like you are already living and breathing this practice in your coaching. I imagine anyone working with you would feel the encouragement and kindness along the way. Walking this human experience with a little more "kindsight" is certainly a mindful, daily practice.

Hi Melissa, I'm delighted the concept of Kindsight resonated with you, and sincerely appreciate your attribution. I define Kindsight as "Compassionate Reflection" and I'm 100% up for your suggestion we become our own cheer squad - if we can cheer our efforts, not just our outcomes, and be an equally safe harbour for ourselves whether we sink or soar on any given occasion, we'll "walk through this human experience" with far more ease and enjoyment.

Angela, thank you so much for your beautiful message. I love the concept of 'kindsight.' Here's to leaning in more to embracing our inner cheersquad and offering ourselves a safe habour, whether we sink or soar. It is such a pleasure connecting with you, and thank you for all the wonderful work you are bringing into the world.

I love the distinction between hindsight and kindsight. What a difference that makes!

Look forward to practicing it.

Merry meet.🔮
